Day 1 Arrival – Blue Lagoon
When arriving at Reykjavík airport we are met by our local guide. He will show us to our private Coach that will be waiting for us outside. From the airport we drive directly to the famous Blue lagoon where we will relax after the flight. Enjoying a bath in the warm water of the lagoon, surrounded by black lava is a perfect way to relax after the excitements of the days before. After the bath we again jump into our private coach that will be waiting for us outside and will drive us back to our hotel in the city.
**Dinner down town Reykjavik** Dinner at Caruso - Very nice restaurant down town Reykjavík - Italian style
Day 2 Golden circle – Super truck – Snowmobile safari
After breakfast at the hotel at your convenience you can start this day by exploring the city center on your own, or just sleep in and relax. At noon we will enjoy lunch at hotel before we are picked up at the hotel by a couple of Super Trucks.
Our Super Trucks are heavily modified 4wd Econoline trucks. The tires are large, 38-44 inches in diameter, giving the Super truck very high clearance from the ground. The way these specially equipped trucks are used in Iceland is unique in the world.
We drive out of the city eastbound for approx.45 minutes, our first stop Thingvellir National park. Home of Iceland’s parliament from 930 to1798 Thingvellir is also the point on Earth’s surface where the North Atlantic ridge splits the two geological continents of North America and Eurasia
From Thingvellir we continue our drive to Geysir, probably the world’s most famous hot spring. One of the greatest natural attractions of Iceland, The Great Geysir, or Stori-Geysir, has been dormant since 1916 when it suddenly ceased to spout. It came to life only once in 1935, and as quickly went back to sleep. The attraction of the area is now Strokkur (The Churn), another geyser 100 meters south of the Great Geysir, which erupts at regular intervals every 10 minutes or so, and its white column of boiling water can reach as high as 20-30 meters.
Lunch for the Golden Circle at Hotel Geysir
Hotel Geysir is a beautiful hotel open all year round and is located next to one of Iceland's main attractions, Geysir in Haukadalur. Guests at the hotel are able to experience the Icelandic hot springs area at any time of the day, in different light and can examine all the sights and sounds of this fascinating area in perfect tranquility.
Now it is time to head up to the Glacier langjökull.
Langjökull (The Long Glacier 1355m) is the second largest in Iceland. It has an area of about 950 km² and most of it rises between 1200 and 1300 m above sea level. It rests on a massif of hyaloclastite mountains. Many glacier snouts crawl down to the lower lying regions, and each of them has a name. Very little water runs off from The Long Glacier on the surface. It, however, supplies the largest natural lake of the country and the lakes to the north and geothermal areas in the West and the Geysir area as well.
Galacier lunch Buffet (optional).
After the excitement driving up to the glacier, everyone is ready for Lunch. Our buffet has been carved out of the glacier, ready just moments before we arrive so it is fresh and unique. Our professional chef will by waiting with a spread that is not possible to refuse. With the best that Iceland has to offer both for the food as well as the setting for a Lunch that takes your breath away.
On the glacier we have the option to go on a snowmobile tour. We can have a 45-60 min. drive around the glacier on snow scooters.
A snowmobile (or snow scooter) is a land vehicle propelled by one or two rubber tracks, with skis for steering. They are designed to be operated on snow and ice, and require no road or trail. Most snowmobiles are powered by two-stroke gasoline/petrol internal combustion engines.
After our adventurous visit to the glacier we head to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls. A bare factual description of the „golden waterfall“ should include that it falls 32 meters in two stages, with water coming from the glacial river Hvítá, which has its source underneath the glacier Langjökull, and flows 133 kilometers into the Atlantic.
From Gullfoss we head back to the city again. On the way back we might try out some more off-roading in our Super trucks, while enjoying the amazing Icelandic landscape.
We will arrive back at our hotel late in the afternoon, giving us just enough time to relax a little before getting ready for a dinner down-town.
**Dinner down town Reykjavik** - The Fishmarket
The Fish market is an Icelandic restaurant offering an Asian-influenced cuisine that offer tasty and delicious dishes with a stylish interior design.
The Asian interior style combined perfectly with Icelandic elegant design, rich with warm earth tones where wood and columnar basalt reflect the exotic essence of bamboo and old oak wood. The dishes are cooked in three different areas of the restaurant: in the main kitchen, on the Robata grill and on the Raw bar.
Day 3 Reykjavík – Departure
